I too love the Artisan, though I have only had one... Dog Hair huh? I haven't tasted that since I accidentally licked my dog back in '92

I am not an expert nor have a lot of experience with aging. What I am doing at this time is purchasing 5-25 of one type of cigar. I let it rest in my humidor for about a week (65%). Most of the cigars I have purchased (one line) are pretty moist, as seen by a short increase in the humidor humidity when the cigars are added (even with beads). Some stores keep the humidity over 70% also.

After they are dried out I try one. If it appears it needs to mellow out I will let it rest for another month. You can keep doing this until you find the ideal time for that particular cigar or run out! Seems like 2 months does the trick for most.

I have a few cigars that have been aging for over 6 months. These are ones that fellow BOTL/SOTLs reccomended that a particular cigar like Opus X would benifit from a long aging time.
