My first RP Vintage 1992 Review

Okay so I finally had one of the RP Vintage 1992's( Robusto) this evening after work. I smoked it with a couple glasses of Tawny Port after work.
I won some seconds a week ago, and tried one cuz I couldn't wait any longer. I'm glad I did.
It was a second with no discernible problems or blemishes. The pre-light draw was very tasty, almost sweet, and effortless.
It was constructed solidly as all of Rocky's smokes seem to be.
The ash was whitish grey, slightly more white than the 1990's are.
I am going to make a blanket statement here, and when I'm done, you may let the beatings begin!
I see very little difference between the 1990 and the 1992 save for the wrapper, which is less sweet than the maduro, and a wee bit spicier. IMO they are both medium to full. The difference for me are in the taste, the flavor profile in both are damned near identical. I love both of them, and will NOT choose between the two of them I want them all.
The last third of them was spicier and grew a little hot but, not harsh. I also detected a smell which I love in RP's, that of cocao in cookies that are baking; not strong but there.
I am glad that I have finally tried these, and have enough to get this bear through the winter months

The 90s and 92s are both wonderfully constructed and excellent smokes... great flavors... always highly reccomended... I would suggest trying a sungrown next. A ton of flavor...and flawless construction just like the rest of the RP line...

Excellent smokes all the way around. Sungrowns are even better in my opinion. You are quickly on the way to becoming a Patelian.

Re: My first RP Vintage 1992

I just started wading into the RP Vintages myself and have loved them. Creamy cool smoke with great flavors and outstanding burn.

Good recommendation; I have some of those too and like them as well but, in a different way. The SG's are unlike the Vintages in terms of taste profile but, excellent in their own right. And they are fuller bodied.

Re: My first RP Vintage 1992

I enjoy the RP Vintage as well. For my taste I give a slight edge to the '92s. Just received a 10 pack of '92 Torpedos from CigarBid at $27 + shipping. I'm all grins about that one.

Re: My first RP Vintage 1992

I have smoked both the 92 and 90 recently and they are both fantastic cigars that I would gladly smoke as my go to, been looking to try the other Patel lines.

I like this line of cigars. Perfer the 90s, but the 92s are also a great smoke. I think the larger sizes perform better.

Nice review. Same blend different wrapper. Yummy cigars.

I'm going to have to pull the trigger on some of these seconds.

They sure are, and with no noticeable differences as compared to the firsts, it is a shame not to get some.
