I had purchased a 5 pack of these cigars a year ago. Looking back over my notes, I found them spicy but somewhat harsh. I had a single in the bottom of my coolidor, and decided it was time to try one with a year of age on it.
The Cigar: Box pressed and packed with a weird paper sleeve. The wrapper was very toothy and a gorgeous chocolate brown. I believe this is mostly tobacco from the DR with some Peruvian ligero. Some slight veins, but nothing too bad.
The Light: Toasted the head and lit up. I could tell from the start that this was going to be a great cigar. Complex flavors and no hint of harshness. I detected a heavy dose of spice and other woody flavors.
The Smoke: Ended up nubbing this. Not one dimensional at all! Great medium bodied spicy smoke. I had this after dinner with a rum & coke. This has been the clearest example of the benefits of ageing so far. A totally different smoke then a year ago. Very nice to see the sheen of oil at the burn line. The burn was nice and straight with no problems. Sorry to see that this line has been discontinued. Might have to pick up a box before they are all gone.

What a coincidence, I just picked up three of these Monday. Two natural and one maduro.
Part of my quest to taste every type of Montecristo known to mankind.

Although I believe they have been in the store for quite some time, I'm going to let them sit a while longer.
