Padron 1926 Serie Natural #35 Review
Just had a Padron 1926 serie, Natural #35 this evening in my newly renovated garage and cigar room. Sort of a celebration after working on garage for the last two months. Retrofitted it and added a small and comfortable cigar area so now when the next earthquake comes, I'll be ready!!
This is the shortest of the 1926 with a 4 inch length and a 48 ring. It's a dark brown color. Very nice scent and extremely well wrapped. The shape is almost square as if it was box pressed and felt firm but still springy when pinched lightly. The band is interesting in that it has two bands, the first is the Padron 1926 band partially covering the second band which is the authenticity band with a number, 308839 on it. Since these are a limited production, I assume this assures the buyer that this is indeed real. It lit easily and immediately, I got volumes of white smoke and the draw was as good as anything I've ever smoked. Very easy, but not too light, the draw was perfect and easy. The flavor was almost caramel but more coffee like, I guess I would say a hint of vanilla since it also tasted sweet. I was pretty surprised as this was very similar to the ISOMs I've been smoking. The spiciness that I generally associated with ISOMs was all there just lightly stimulating my tongue and palate from the tip to the back. In contrast to the several 1964s I've had, this is definitely more full with more body in my opinion. The flavors became just slightly more intense through the second third of the cigar, and just held it's own with the best I've had. Great white clouds of smoke and the ash just stayed on and the cigar stayed lit. It's a cigar that makes you savor and enjoy the flavors. I mean this is a cigar that just demands your attention. However, as a fairly short cigar, it didn't take long to smoke it down to the final third. Surprisingly, given the wonderful time I was having with this, it got a bit harsh towards the end, slightly hot and slightly bitter. I was having such a wonderful time, it caught me off guard, I blew it out once, and it got a bit better, but still the harshness came back. It didn't stop me from nubbing this beauty. Well, a great cigar, as close to ISOMs in complexity as any nc's I've ever had. Although the ending was not as nice, I would rate this cigar very, very highly. But given the price differential between this cigar and ISOMs, I'll probably stick with ISOMs. Still, an excellent cigar. Davis |

Those 35's are my favorite NC. I stick with the Maduro myself as it is yet more intense. Nice review there. |

The only natural so far I like is the AVO and Padron. Nice review.

Thanks for the review DYJ, very descriptive. I especially liked your comparison to ISOM's, as I have yet to smoke one. It gives me a basis for comparison so that when I do smoke a cuban, I will be able to have an idea as to what to look for and compare. Very informative.
