Punch Champion Review

Been saving this guy in my humi for about 6 months. Don't really know why I pickd this smoke up a while back. I'm not much for odd shapes, but I think it was suggested by a friend.

Been sitting and 70 degrees and 68 humidity for 6 months. Cut it with my Xicar and the cut was miserable. The cutter is almost new, and I've never had a bad cut before. Don't know enough to explain why this one went wrong.

Toasted the foot and started puffing. Had a terribly bitter taste right off the bat. The first 10-12 puffs were awul. I almost threw it at that point, but my wife asked me how much paid for it....I guess I'm pressing on.

I get into the thick part of the cigar and things start to mellow out a little bit. Still not a huge fan, but almost all of the bitterness was gone.

One positive note throughout: plenty of thick smoke with a firm, long ash.

I've had worse, I'm sure, but not in recent memory.

I was really disappointed because I love just about every other Punch I've ever had. The Royal Coronations are one of my favorite non-ISOM.

Sorry to all you Champion fans out there. Maybe I just got a dog....

A champ fan here,thats the only size with that blend.I wish they made a larger size.Sorry your cigar was a disappointment...

I'm a big fan of the Champion too...sorry to hear about your experience. Maybe you're right it was a bad stick and deserving of another chance...

hmmmm. maybe I shouldn't have used listerine right before I burned this smoke (just kidding).

Worth another shot, eh? Maybe I'll do that.

I have to agree with the review. I like almost any Punch BUT the Champion. Most Champions that I have smoked are harsh and bitter until they are almost done, and then they settle down. The Champion is a different blend the regular Punch line, and not a blend that I particularly care for.

As to the Royal Coronations, I just got another box of them in today from JR. Orgasm time!

Not a big fan of this certain vitola but I know it has its fans.
