TTT Trinidad No.4 Review

I got this cigar out of a JR sampler linked here:

http://www.jrcigar.com/index.cfm?pag...&ItemCode=MC12

This thing weighs in at a tiny 4.00x45 and the most surprising thing about it for me was how much of a beast it was given the size. Let me exlpain.

The cigar was probably the most full bodied one I've smoked to date. My point of reference here is the Montecristo Afrique Machame which is up there in terms of strength out of the cigars I own or have smoked in the past. Suprisingly, the flavours were good. I was busy talking on the phone and looking at the internet to recall what they were, but I do remember a lingering sweetness throughout the entire smoke. Overall I was satisfied with the taste and I would give it an 8 on a scale of 10 in that department.

Next comes the construction. At first the burn was flawless but one I got closer to the band it became fairly uneven. This didn't bother me a whole lot because the good flavor persisted. But when the smoke went out with about an inch to go I didn't bother relighting it. The draw on the other hand was perfect throughout. The ash was also pristine.

Another important thing to note is the nicotine. I've had this smoke in the humidor for over a month which did nothing to dissipate the strength of the buzz that I got. I like a nicotine kick but the first 10 puffs left me pretty much on the edge of what is comofortable.

My final thoughts are these. This is not the best cigar ever but definitely not a bad one by any means... I overall liked it. It was strange how poor the burn got on the last third but that is probably because I moved outside so I have to think the construction is good if it wasn't for that. The nicotine issue is a double edge sword. Those who don't like it will hate this smoke, but those who are looking for that will find this cigar to be a potent fix. In fact, this would be the perfect cigar to smoke while drunk because at that point most of us are looking for the nicotine kick in the pants

My overall score, if I was doing a rating for top25, would end up with this smoke in the low 7s.

They don't have a category for this cigar yet. I just submitted it though so maybe in a few days.
