Gurkha Expedition Review

First let me say, "Holy Crap!" What an excellent smoke! This stick was gifted to me by Ermo-Eric (Thanks Bro!) I've been putting off smoking this stick for awhile. I think the dude on the band with the sword was getting the best of me . Anyway, I was working part time on the graveyard shift and brought it along. The wrapper was beautiful and shiny, all wrapped in cedar! Used a punch on it and the pre-light draw was moderate. Poured a nice cup of strong black coffee to go with it. Fired it up and had to double draw to get some smoke going for the first inch. The taste was excellent! I could taste earthy and nutty flavors. After the first inch the smoke started producing like crazy! Plenty of it. Nice beautiful white ash! After the first third it got a little spicy, but more mild than medium in body. Picked up a toasty taste to go along with the nutty and earthy tones. The last third was just as tasy as the others! I didn't ash it until it got to the band!!!! Check this out!

This was by far one of the best cigars I have ever taste, still a newbie though.

Re: Gurkha Expedition

I've had several cigars from the Gurkha line, including the Expedition, and they have never disappointed me. My favorites are the Regents and the Legend Aniversarios.

By the way, nice review!

Re: Gurkha Expedition

Agree bro. This is a great cigar. Would loved to of been able to watch you smoke that without dropping the ash. But that was funny as hell.

Re: Gurkha Expedition

I had one of these over the weekend and I agree - it was very enjoyable. The aroma was nice and went well with coffee. It was a really mild smoke, great for relaxing after breakfast.

Re: Gurkha Expedition

I just had my first Gurkha tonight and it was an Expedition Toro. It had a pleasant mild flavor and a nice wrapper. It felt great in my hand. I didn't notice much spice but it was a good flavor most of the way through. It also doesn't hurt that these can be bought off cbid for less than $3 a stick usually. I also just won a 5er of Class Regent Nepalese Warriors for $15. Good deals on the Gurkhas there...
