Hemingway Work Of Art Maduro Review

    $9.20
    4 7/8 x 56
    Strength: Full
    Country of Origin: Dominican Republic
    Wrapper Color: Maduro
    Wrapper Origin: Connecticut
    Wrapper Leaf Type: Broadleaf

Prelight: Old saddle in a barn someone threw sugar and caramel on

    1st 1/2
Real easy to light with the small tipped foot, almonds with toasted sugar and syrupy molasses tinge, great draw, lots of big smoke coming off

Reminds me of a cross between the Arturo Fuente Aņejo and the VSG Enchantment

    Final 1/2
Nice straight burn, ash still holding on at 1-7/8"
Sweet syrup, almonds, leather finish on the lips
Very nice little smoke, my kind of cigar build although a very difficult stick to roll for the seasoned cigar roller

Smoke time 1 hr 10 min
    Score 9 out of 10

Thanks for a great, quick 'n dirty review on one of my favorites. One point of curiosity though. I've always considered this stick as the quintessential medium strength and body profile, while the majority of online reviews list it as mild-medium. Just wondering what about it strikes you as full?

    Thanks again and well done.

I find it medium but not in anyway mild, don't find many sticks give me the nicotine buzz anymore with my love for full strength cigars.
    Thanks again!

I'm glad you had a good experience, I'm now waiting for another one to rest. My first one's draw was so tight that I almost had to throw it out. It went out about 8 times and I had to basically crush an roll it between my hands to loosen the draw. Hopefully the one I had was a fluke!

Thanks for the review. I don't buy many AF's, but spotted this recently at one of my shops. I'll grab a couple next time I'm in.

love that cigar, the change in ring gauge as you smoke really mixes it up for this little guy. my local b&m has them in stock a lot of the time. Lots of grey smoke

I love these, especially with age. To me, they are full flavored with a medium body. Very enjoyable.

Just a tad bigger than the short story, but the Maduro wrapper just takes it over the top. Wish i could afford more, but i space them out when i smoke them.

Ive had issues with other perfectos, like some tunneling even though I was taking my time.

The construction on these Fuente perfectos is great. Ive had quite a few.

Great performance - dead even burn line, rock solid ash, perfect draw.

Great cigar. When I first started out, it took many cigars for me to finally start detecting flavors. When I first smoked this, however, I was completely blown away from pretty much the first draw.
