Famous Nicaraguan 3000 Review

Fellow gorillas, I just have to tell you. This is absolutely the best bundle cigar I have ever smoked. I figured if I was going down to buy some I should buy the largest size they had so I picked up the 6X60. They are pressed and oily. Quite the presentation. As you can see the ash is very light, almost white. The consistency and draw were perfect. I punched this one and was very happy with the draw figuring if it wasn't satisfactory I could cut it. No need. In regards to flavor, I'm not savvy with the terms but it said it was a full flavor smoke and I didn't know what to expect. I thought that meant overpowering. Not so with this stick. I could draw it back to my voicebox and it didn't give you that overwhelming choaky feeling. It was smooth and creamy. I smoked it with a cup of hot chocolate. They complimented each other very well. Actually I figure this is about a 1.5 hour stick and I could have drank a quart of hot chocolate with it. I was very impressed overall.
I live close to Famous and go there quite often. As a matter of fact this Saturday they have a Partagas presentation I think I may go to. I'm going to talk to Gary or whoever the head muckety muck of the day is and tell them to continue producing this cigar if they want to stay in business. I'll also tell the head muckety muck that I was told by many people on Club Stogie about this stick coming around again and how excited the gorillas were when they saw it advertised in the catalog.
If anyone can make the Partagas gig let me know. We'll go say hi to Benji and smoke some of his sticks.

Thanks for listening. Hopefully I'll get better at writing reviews

Nice review - I believe that is the first one posted about the "new" 3000s.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.

Thanks for the review. Did you happen to have smoked any of the "old" ones? A comparison would be awesome.

I only bought one bundle of the old torps and really enjoyed them. And I notice this one has a band.

I never smoked any of the old ones but I was told by Lisa (the counter girl) that this is exactly the same blend. This woman knows her cigars but she could be blowin' smoke up my *ss and I wouldn't know the difference. So far she's been very helpful and honest and this is one of her go to smokes as well.

Just took the plunge and ordered a bundle...1st time, looking forward to seeing how they smoke. Will make a few comments when they arrive but their coming cross country "free" via UPS. Now to make room in one of the coolers which are already bursting at the seams. Course maybe I can make room and deplete the inventory a bit in the coming days.

Re: Famous Nicaraguan 3000 Review

Thanks for the review. I have yet to have one but, I have a feeling there is a bundle in my future around the holidays. My Mother In Law lives in Allentown PA, not far from the store (about 20 minutes away) and I will probably buy a bundle.

TideRoll actually did a comparison a couple of days ago in another thread. I believe it's post #36 here:

The key point for this discussion is:

It's a good comparison....

From everything I hear, the Famous Nic 3000s are heaven in a bundle. I'm looking forward to trying some, too.
