Peterson Gran Reserve Robusto Review
i had the peterson this morning with a cup of black coffee. start off by saying the cigar is a good looking cameroon wrapper, smelled of sweet tobacco. i punched it and blazed it up, spicey and a weird like peanut taste to it with a slight hint of sweet caramel, very nice. after the first couple of puffs most of the spice is gone and peanut and slight sweetness is still there.
first third, burned even, peanut and slight sweet caramel finish. second third, burn needed a correction not bad though. same flavors last third, burn even, spice came back with the same flavors. this was a very nice cigar, flavors were good and i got a deal on this box from CI. i will say at $1.75 i would buy again, but at $7 a pop i would not. in that price range there are better cameroon cigars out there. pretty one dimensional cigar that as stated if bought at the right price is a good smoke, but in my opinion is in no way deserving of the CA 16 cigar in the land rating. ![]() |

Re: Peterson Gran Reserve Robusto
I have had one that I picked up on a whim for about four months. This is the last full day of my AZ holiday/cigar hunt and I thought I would give it a try. Had never had one before and honestly did not expect that much.
It was early afternoon and I was sitting on the balcony of my hotel room overlooking the pool area. I decided to read my book, drink a little iced coffee and give the Peterson a try. What a pleasant surprise. It started off mild with a little sweetness then developed more body and picked up a very nice spicy flavor. I found it very flavorful for a mild to maybe medium stick. In that regard it reminded me somewhat of the Casa Torano but with even a little more flavor toward the end. Smoke was plentiful and the burn was near perfect for the first half. Burn then became uneven but did self correct within an inch or so. Smoked it to the nub without ever needing to touch my lighter. All-in-all a very satisfying morning or mid day smoke, or a nice flavorful anytime smoke for those enjoying mild cigars.
