Davidoff no. 1 (with 5-7 years of age)
Came across some davidoffs a few weeks ago in diebels that had been left "neglected" for about 5-7 years to age (we know this because the davidoff band doesn't have the name of the cigar on it, and also it had our old price sticker on it)
Firstly, I had to try this format because smitty gifted me a freaking cuban davi no. 1. I needed to try this just to see what the cuban davi might burn/draw like. This dominican davi however, was freaking outstanding. Pre draw was extremely musty tasting which concerned me. The cigar also had no smell whatsoever to it (before light up) This baby when lit up though was extremely smooth, floral, and honey esque for the first third. The last two thirds opened up to the classic dom. davidoff flavor, only more refined and smoother. If you can stand the wait, try aging some of these for a long time. It's worth it, as this is the best dom. cigar (or cigar period for that matter) that i've had in quite a long time.

Floral and honey-esque?

I really like all of the DR Davidoffs. When you say #1, do you mean Anniversario #1 or Grand Cru #1? The difference between the two is night and day - you can tell by length. The Anniversario is 8x48rg and the Grand Cru is 6x42. The Anniversario was very mild, and the Grand Cru was "full bodied" to say the least.

Re: Davidoff no. 1 (with 5-7 years of age)
actually found it (the exact cigar that is)
it's the davidoff classic series no. 1 (so their original line) and i believe it's the exact same size as it's cuban cousin (7 1/2 inches and 38 rg) hope this clears up the confusion?
