Impressions of the VS Lines???

I will humble myself FIRST by admitting to a weakness for the VC Reserve (maduro) cigars, so long as they are properly aged (8 months).

I will humble myself SECOND by professing a weakness for the VC Bohemian Blacks.

I will humble myself THIRD for a lingering hunger for the VC Serie 55 Maduro (Blue label)

I have humbled myself (by admission to my wife, and consequent verbal lashings) to ordering the CI "VC Bohemian Collection II:

-- Serie55 Robusto (Blue) - Maduro 5 x 50
-- Serie55 Robusto (Green) - Sun-Grown 5 X 50
-- Serie55 Robusto (Yellow) - Cameroon 5 X 50
-- Bohemian BAMBOO North Beach -- 5 X 54
-- BohemiaN BLACK North Beach -- 5 X 54
-- Bohemian RED North Boach -- 5 X 54
-- Bohemian WHITE North Beach -- 56 X 54
-- Connecticut Yankee RIver Valley Rothschild -- 4.5 X 52
-- Primeros Robusto -- 5 X 50

Can any of you guys give me a sense for your senses on the above!!??

Re: Impressions of the VS Lines???

I just had a Vintage select last night that was quite good, the only other I've had before was a Bohemian Cuban Corojo and it was excellent but it had been aging for better than 2 years at least.

Always value for dollars for sure, no shame there

smoke em in good health!

Re: Impressions of the VS Lines???

Palm,

I think I have chimed in on these with you before, thanks for the advice on aging the vintage selects - my favorite of the line.
Series 55 Maduros (blue) and Corojos (red) I like. I have some sungrowns, but haven't tried them yet.
TXMatt is a big proponent of the connecticut yankee. I have a couple I haven't tried.
I had a sampler of the Bohemians - Black and Red were solid.

I had a primeros Aeros a couple weeks ago that I almost gave to the alligators in the neighborhood lake - didn't like it at all. I have a few more to try so I won't give up just yet.

TXDYNA,

The VS lines are, unquestionably, "value" cigars. I would NOT recommend any of them for "out-of-the-box" smoking!

Yet, they age wonderfully. I've not run across a year-old VS that hasn't been simply "delicious!"

Ahh well... Opinions are like belly-buttons!!!!

VS has a good line up . I love the primeros, they are a little mild for a lot of folks though.

BRUCE,

You're right! The VS lines are on the South side of medium-full.

FLAVOR seems to be the question.

I've had one of the VS "Samplers" (10 cigars) resting for two months (another "Sampler" to arrive Tuesday).

I will commit myself (for better or worse) to reviewing each cigar, commencing on 12/1 and concluding on 12/10 (HOLY CRAP!! This is ANOTHER FINE MESS I've gotten myself into!!!).

If anyone else has the same Sampler, I'd WELCOME a "competitive comparison on CS... Same sticks... Same days....
No holds barred... Any takers???

Re: Impressions of the VS Lines???

I predict that after trying the Connecticut Yankee it will become your favorite VS. If it doesn't, you just suck

The Bohemian Red is darn good cigar as well. The only Series 55 I liked was the blue. The Primeros Aero is decent, age the hell out of the Bohemian bamboo unless you enjoy grassy flavor..

My thoughts are as follows:Primeros are a bit harsh and dry.

any of the Bohemian North Beach are really good...

Re: Impressions of the VS Lines???

I have a couple of boxes of the VS 55's, mixed colors. At a year they are still variable. Some are quite nice and some are dogs. I enjoy about half of them and the others get flicked. The maddies are usually OK. The corojos have been great and terrible. Go figger.

They had the nerve to rip off my initials and put them on subpar cigars! Bastages!
