A. Fuente Hemmingway Best Seller Review

Having smoked a few Short Storys, the Best Seller is a welcome addition to the humi (since it's bigger!)

Size: A little over 4.5" in length.
Ring gauge: approx. 45-55 or 60 (cap to foot)
In my opinion, this was a robusto-size cigar
When I took this out of my humi, the gauge read 66 degrees F, and 67% Rh.

Fixed myself a Makers Mark with a splash of soda, two ice cubes.
Didn't smell the stick at pre-light; figured it was exactly like a Short Story.
Clipped the cap with a Havana Cutter; cut was nice and clean. I carefully lit the foot with my Prince torch and took my first puffs:


Tasted cocoa and coffee, although a tiny bit harsh (expected). After 5-10 minutes, it started to smooth out a quite a bit. The burn pattern was slightly off (took off the band at this point)



Continued to puff away, approx. every 60 sec. The burn evened out, the ash white and firm as a brick:



Shorty after the above photo, the ash fell off and the whole taste thingy changed; a creamy, honey-like flavor came through (also got myself another Makers Mark) . Typically, the last 2/3 of a cigar is my favorite, and this Best Seller did not disappoint. This was an extremely easy cigar to smoke. Draw was perfect, LOTS OF SMOKE, and no hassles at all.

Smoked it down to the last inch (after slowing down my puffs). From first puff to last, a total of 65 minutes. Overall, a great cigar, very much the same as a Short Story, but slightly bigger.

Great pics. About 3 years ago these were a rare find but the past few years they have been easier to find. Almost as common as the Short Story and just as good, just a little longer.

I bought a box of Best Sellers about three months ago, this was based on how well I like the short story... Right now I'm letting them age a little.

The Best Seller is always harder to find than the short story for me, thats why I went a ahead and bought a box.
