Camacho Corojo 11/18 Review
I smoked one tonight, I had to after I repaired it yesterday with Knox gelatin. I'm glad I saved it, as it was more than good enough to smoke.
The mended tears and unraveled parts of the wrapper held nicely.
I clipped about 1/8 inch of the cap; the draw was very easy, I was cocnerned about that; it seemd too easy.
I lit it w/o a problem, and the first couple of puffs gave plenty of smoke. The first inch showed a lot of pepper, and lasted through the next inch or so. The pepper subsided and became smoother. I could taste the Honduran tobacco taste; I like that.
The remainder of the first third smoothed out and I tasted coffee and cocoa with some spice just in the background. The second third became a little spicier but the predominate tastes were of coffee. Then as I exhaled through my nose I could taste the Honduran tobacco again very chocolatey and tasty. The final third required a few touch ups with my lighter; the spots I repaired with the gelatin were heaviest and prevented a steady burn. I didn't mind this as it was the cost of getting to smoke this fine cigar w/o throwing it away. The pepper came back with 4 inches left and the aroma hit me; very nice tobacco that seemed sweet and cocao like.
This was my first of this type. I first thought it would be like the Camacho corojo monarca, but it wasn't. It was less concentrated than the monarca, more complex, and somewhat smoother. I figure, if this beat up and repaired cigar was this good, the rest of them I have will be even better.
I recommend this smoke but, if you can get it from C-bid that will be even better. The retail price at my local B&M is 9 dollars, I got em cheaper at c-bid.
