Carlos Torano Virtuoso Review

Where to start with this cigar... first, it was gifted/bombed from Doctorcue. Sat and slept for about a month and a half. Wonderful appearance, deep glossy maduro brown. Greasy looking almost. Had a shine to it. Constructed really well with an even and round cap. That cap was quickly sliced away.. and the prelight draw was perfect. Had a cream and coffee flavor before lighting. Okay, so now we're toasting and the ash is burning white. Beautiful. The first 1/3 of this stick was nice, took me a while to name the flavor, but as my pallet has been developing I was able to place it. Chocolate covered cherries. Thats right. Coffee and chocolate with light spice blended throughout this cigar. I loved it. The burn was slightly crooked but that happens to burst of my cigars, I think it's my technique. Chocolate was very strong on this one. If you like medium cigars, with a dark chocolate flavor, pick one up. Even if you don't, try one, its worth it for just one.

I liked the way you described that, makes you want to smoke one!

Carlos Torano, did they come out with the line of military cigars? One for each branch of service?

Great review! I agree with your assessment: chocolate and coffee!
In my book it goes: Silver Exodus, Signature, Virtuoso!

Re: Carlos Torano Virtuoso

That's funny I just happened to pick one up at the B&M yesterday. Didn't know anything about them, just picked it kind of at random. I was looking for something *not* maduro (it's also funny that you described the wrapper as maduro 'cuz I thought it looked more natural) as most of the sticks in my humi *are* maduro and I am getting ready for something different.

ANYway, I really enjoyed it, though I only had time for about half. Here is another strange thing: when I went on CI's website the label they showed for the virtuoso looked completely different from the one on the cigar I smoked. The one I had was just a red label that said "Carlos Torano" but nothing else. It also didn't seem to be as full bodied as they described.

Boy, this post doesn't seem to make any sense. Bottom line: I liked the cigar I smoked yesterday and the box it came from said virtuoso so I guess that is what it was!

Kind of sounds like you smoked a Carlos Torano Nicaragua Selection to me. Go by the band not the box.

Re: Carlos Torano Virtuoso

Great review! I had my second the other day, and found it to start very smooth, then got rough toward the last 1/4. I chucked it out and nearly hit my dog. I still prefer the Exodus 59s...one of my favorite CTs

Re: Carlos Torano Virtuoso

Great review, I enjoyed a Torano Casa Torano last night, much milder then the Virtuoso. But like anything they make, a great smoke.
