Hi everyone,
I stopped by my local B&M today and picked up my 3rd cigar ever, a Drew Estate Java Wafe. It was the only size Java they had and I eagerly picked it up despite the 58 getting better reviews. While I was not planning on smoking it today, after seeing it, I had to make time to smoke it before finishing up work and heading home. APPEARANCE This was a very interesting cigar to say the least. As thin as a pencil but as wide as a handheld eraser. It was very strange in a "cute" sort of way. I am glad no one was around as I smoked the little thing ![]() CONSTRUCTION The prelight drawl was a little more difficult than the Padron 1964 Exclusivo Maduro I smoked a few days earlier. While I did not even think to put the Padron's drawl into its review due to it being so perfect I did not even think of it, I had to note this one. The difference may be due to the fact this Java Wafe was very small and thin, how much air could really pass through it anyway? I had a burning issue a couple of inches in. If I had a cutter, I would have cut it and tried to start over. I wound up taking some matches and burning it heavily until it straightened out and the weakling side caught up with the rest of the cigar.FLAVOR I could definately taste the slight sugar tip. All throughout the smoke my lips burned with pepper but my palate tasted something slightly sweet. It was an interesting sensation, hot yet sweet. VALUE $4.75 plus tax. By far the cheapest cigar I have had thus far. OVERALL EXPERIENCE Well, the experience seemed to go hand in hand with the relative price. I am not sure I will be picking up another one of these any time soon. After about 2/3 into it, I decided I was not really enjoying it so I let it die out and keep a little of its dignity. |

Yep - had one of those wafe things before - first and last time. As for as the Java line itself - I have an occasional one sometimes early in the morning with coffee - not something I reach for weekly, but a change of pace every now and then.

The Missus had one of these last week. She did experience some problems keeping it lit.
She did enjoy the flavor, but I don't think I would. I'm not a fan of flavored cigars, so your mileage may vary. Worth checking out if you think that this type of thing might appeal to you. The flat shape is appealing just from its difference to just about anything out there. |

Re: Newbie Samples Drew Estate Java Wafe
I have had one java cigar in my lifetime, I really didn't mind it, but I am not a big fan of the infused cigars.
