Anejo #77 Reserva XtraViejo Review

Back Story: Bought this at the B&M today as a goodbye to my trusty daily driver which I totalled back in June and sent to the crusher today

Pre Light: Smooth pull with a slight taste of coffee

I cut the Head with my Palio ~.125" I couldn't bare to wast this smoke as the visual look is amazing

First 1/3 - Initial light up was very sweet, like a candy with a earthy undertone. Smoke volume was amazing, the only time I've got better smoke than this was with a Partagas 160 Robusto. The taste was so smooth and I began feeling the effects of this cigar almost imeadiatly and it forced me to promptly sit my self down on a couch

Middle 1/3 - I was forced to ash this after ~ an inch due a slight uneven burn which did eventually correct itself. The taste transitioned into a choclate aftertaste with a heavy overtone of spice and sizzle. At this point I was nearly spinning, this is a strong cigar! The smoke continued to billow plumes of pure white, something I really like in a stogie.

Last 1/3 - I ashed again and prepared for the finish, the initial coffee taste returned and the spiceness was intensifing with the very strong buzz it was giving me. I set it down when it became to hot to hold any longer, although the cigar itself never got hot while smoking. My whole mouth was tingling at this point and I felt amazing. The burn in the last half of the stick was razor sharp and the ash held together perfectly.

Final Thoughts - This was an amazing smoke, one that I would get again if the cost point was lower (20 a stick...). I found the entire exp. to be very fulfilling and it definently lived up to the aura that follows these Feuntes. I will have this again after I try some of the other high-end Feuntes, such as the amazing OpusX DaKlugs sent me and compare back to this.

Thanks for the review. I tried an Anejo Reserva #46 awhile back and liked it. Note to self, get some more Anejos!

I have one for Christmas Eve I've been saving! Nice review. I had a similar experience but had a background of leather to mine. Viva la difference!

I hear so much hype about these sticks ... thanks for the great review. I'll have to go searching for one myself.

Re: Anejo #77 Reserva XtraViejo

Nice review! I like to let these get a few months on them before I try them. One of my local B&M's got some for Fathers Day last year, and I bought and smoked one of them in celebration of my dad...and then barfed in celebration of my dad. By the holidays those sticks were completely evened-out. Save one or two for summer and see what happens then...
