Padron 1926 - #35 Natural Review
Cigar – Padron 1926 - #35 Natural
Size – 4” x 48 Cost - Kind of a package deal from montecristo#2 - here I've never had either the 1926, or the 1964 lines of Padron, and was anxious to give them a go. When I saw Aaron's post, I thought it was a great opportunity to get a variety of both lines to try out. MAN AM I GLAD I DID! Setting - Smoked it in my garage while working on my fantasy football teams and different pools I'm in (sometimes it seems like more work than pleasure!). Presmoke – Perfectly constructed little guy that I thought would be a quick smoke with some punch. Prelight draw was a little loose and I was a little worried it was too loose. Wrong! Construction - Burned Perfectly. I always take my time lighting cigars, and with this cigar, I could have lit it, and tossed my lighter, this thing never wavered. Flavor – From the start, this thing impressed me. Tons of flavor, and tons (and I mean TONS) of smoke. I started out smoking it without anything to drink, but after 5 minutes I knew I had to find something to compliment this. Chose Glen Moray 12 yr. and boy did it hit the spot. The cigar was full flavor and full strength, but NEVER harsh. I tasted some chocolate or cocoa flavors, and some obvious lip tingling pepper background. Total smoke time was around 40-45 minutes (nubbed that sucker!) Overall – By far, the best NC I've ever had. I've only had a few Habanos, but this thing is up there with some, if not most of them (not all of them though ). The overall strength of it was impressive, but not overbearing. I'm hoping the others sent go as well. If the rest of the sticks are near as good as this one, it was money well spent. Thanks Aaron!Rating – I haven't smoked enough different cigars to feel comfortable giving "grades", but this was definitely an A. I'd say maybe 93/100, but as my cigar experience expands, I reserve the right to raise or lower that .Note - I'm definitely a newbie (I think the term "Rookie" was used at the Mahogany Herf ), but I know that I liked this cigar!

Re: Padron 1926 - #35 Natural
In terms of construction, these cigars are right on. Perfect burn, with a nice tight ash and tons of smoke. I think Padron produces the best box-pressed cigars I have ever smoked, with Rocky Patel coming in second.
I'm really glad you liked your first padron serie 1926. I would definitely try a maduro next to see how you like the different wrappers. Great review as well. I was at my local B&M the other day and they had the new Padron samplers that have eight smokes from the three series: 1964, 1926 and the thousand series (comes in either maduro or natural). I think these are better than their previous samplers which were just the 1964 or the 1926 lines, as they give you a chance to try more of their products. I think these are a win-win, great for the consumer and most likely a better business decision as well. If you are outside of CA, my local B&M just setup a new webstore and the prices on these are pretty good (unfortunately the 46% CA taxes really suck for people who live here). There website is www.grantsmokeshop.com - just giving a shout-out to my local B&M.

Great review. I haven't had of these yet but they are high on my "need to try" list.

Re: Padron 1926 - #35 Natural
No doubt that little 35 is impressive.
If you liked the Natural, give that Maduro a shot. A bit stronger but a hint of sweetness. Tasty little things. |

I have, and liked them very much also. I think the flavor of this one was more pronounced though (not stronger, just richer). I'm not sure if that makes any sense!

Re: Padron 1926 - #35 Natural
I really like the #35s - fantastic flavor, is deceptively small (I spend 45 min on these things where other similar-length sticks take me 30 min), and just the right price point. I usually choose the maduro for that unique richness; both are remarkable.
