ever had a Bances?
So, I was leaving base today after my doctor's appt and decided to stop by the local cigar shop. Had stopped once before, but quite a while back. Anyways, I ended up getting a Cx2 and a Diablo, because these were two I've been wanting to try. Now on to my point. The guy threw in a Bances Breva cigar for free, which I had never heard of. I figured it to be a rocket, so after a little research, I found them at Famous (discontinued) but haven't found a review by anyone. Has anyone any experience? If these don't suck, I may have found a diamond in the rought, but I'll let 'er sit in the humi for a few days.

Exactly. Omowasu's description is dead on. I picked up a box of these this past Xmas. They were decent, probably could have used a little sit down time. cheers

Re: ever had a Bances?
Ok, so after work I'm waiting for my wife to get back so we can go run in the frigid cold, and while surfing the internet, out of the corner of my eye, I noticed the little Bances sitting on top of my small desk humi. It somehow never seemed to make it's way into the humi, so I decided I had enough time to herf this sucker down.
I pulled off the cellophane, which surprisingly was tinted from sitting around so long at the B&M without an owner, no doubt. I clipped the cap, and the silly thing nearly crumbled apart. I thought this was going to be a fast experience. Pre-light was excellent and caught rather quickly (I wonder why) The first draw perfect, as a ton of smoke filled my mouth. The flavors were spicy and tar-like, but I enjoyed the smoke. The next draw got better as the tar taste mellowed to a less dynamic flavor...more characteristic of burnt coffee. At this point I was puffing pretty fast, but each draw was very simple with little complexity. The spice kept me going! Finally, I had to put her down because my wife showed up and commented on a smoky smell in the house. All in all, not a bad smoke. I may try another one again in the future after the cigar had been in proper RH levels for a while. I think with the right attention, this would be a mighty fine after brunch cigar. Light bodied, but spicy at the same time...but not too much to mess your early morning stomach up! ![]()
