Thumbs up Punch Rothschild Oscuro Review

I just got back from walking my dog, and i smoked one of these Punch sticks that i got from the devil site. it's 4.5x50 Oscuro

pre-light draw had a nice taste, that delicious maduro taste. this stick lit up very easily with tons of smoke. I would call this thing pretty full-flavored. definitely has some spice to it. the smoke was mostly smooth but probably not the best for a beginner... but just to my liking. I'd compare this almost with a CAO Brazillia. kinda leathery taste, little toasty. finish was not really short but not super long either, i guess i'd call it a medium. I would imagine that this stick in a larger size would pack quite a punch. The flavor was mostly a straight tobacco flavor. pretty flat flavor profile, didn't change much either way. i smoked it down to about an inch. i was actually suprised at how long it went without getting harsh. at about the 1-inch mark it started to harshen up and get a little acrid, so i pitched it.

Overall I was happy with it, and I'll probably buy more of these, maybe in a slightly larger size. At this size, it lasted me just around a half-hour. perfect smoke for walking the dog. plus i only paid 11 bux for the 5-pack on cbid, so for the price i'd call it quite a value.

Re: Punch Rothschild Oscuro

If you can find them, there's usually a three pack they sell around christmas with the rare corojo, the oscuro, and a natural in a small cedar box from punch.

The oscuro is definitely the most flavorful though. I love 'em. Some are really black and oily, while others are just a real dark brown i've found.

But all good! nice review.

Re: Punch Rothschild Oscuro

mine wasn't quite as black as something like a cohiba black or a cao mx2, but it was close. much moreso than the dark brown i saw in the picture on cbid.

i have to make some room in my humi, since i have a sneaking suspicion more of these will be on their way
