SLR Serie G Review

Tried the #6 today. It is a 6 x 60 behemoth, double maduro.

Wrapper: Connecticut Broad leaf Maduro

Binder: Connecticut Broad leaf

Filler: Nicaraguan

Plenty of nice tasting smoke, with some pepper and chocolate.

Not as full bodied as the other SLR Reserva Especial cigar line.

Purchased at the JR B&M in St. Louis for around $6.00. Could not wait had to try it out and paid the price. Draw was excellent but the burn was funky!

Has a very nice long finish. About 1/2 way through the burn leveled out and behaved better and did not need additional touch ups.

Also purchased the:

Rothchilde 56 x 5
Short Robusto 54 x 4.5

Will let them rest a couple of months before trying. It is a strong cigar, not for the light hearted! I think with a little age and some drying out they will be excellent smokes!

Re: SLR Serie G

I tried the short rosusto for the first time 2 months ago...

Nice indeed!!!

My local CS told me that these were made to compete directly with the LGC series R maduros just cheaper...

IMO, it is a great tasting cigar with lots of smoke and nice draw...I did not have any burn issues with the first short robusto that I tried...The others that I have smoked have been in the humi for a few weeks...I have smoked probably 5-6 of the short robustos...

Nice cigar if you are pressed with time too...40-50 minutes to smoke these...

Take care,

Nestor
