Carlos Torano Tribute 2004 Robusto Review
I'm popping my review cherry, so be easy guys.
I opened up my coolerdor and started digging through it. I was looking for something different, but would only take about 1-1.5 hours to smoke. I came across 3 of the tributes and couldn't recall how I got them. I have had a Torano in the past (I think it was an Exodus) and remember it being very mild. I took a whiff and really couldn't smell anything, I took a deeper sniff and got the faintest hint of coffee/dark chocolate. Intrigued I grabbed it up and out to the garage I went. I cut just slightest bit of the cap off with my palio (God I love this cutter) and took a draw...WOW nice sweet tobacco taste. OH BOY this is gonna be good. Fired up my MT-7705 Micro torch and started toasting the foot nice and slow. Popped the stick in my mouth and begin lighting it up with short puffs. Volumes of nice white smoke came pouring out. Took my first deep puff and let the smoke waft from mouth and blew some through my nose. WHAM! I was hit with a slightly bitter, but slightly sweet flavor. Kind've like burnt sugar. The bitterness was not overbearing and the sweetness really offset it nicely. After the first third the bitterness went away leaving a nice sweet, leathery, black coffee flavor. It was so good I forgot to drink the Pepsi I had sitting next to me. All the while volumes off smoke are filling my garage, and I am in stogie heaven. My wife opens the door to tell me something and says "Holy chit are you on fire, its so smoky in here' As I got into the last third the flavor of leather and coffee had gave way to sweet and creamy flavor. I took off the 2 bands and continued on, almost burning my fingers. I don't really know how long they had been in my coolerdor because I don't remember where or whom I got them from. My best estimate would be that they have been sleeping for about 2-3 months. I will be buying a box and stashing it away as this was one of the best sticks I've had in a while. |

Great review! I have one I've been sitting on for quite a while. Perhaps on New Years day.

Good job on the review. The 2004 Tribute is my favorite of the entire Toraņo line.
