Camacho 11/18 Review

This is a nice little figurado (6x48-58-50) very dark in color with some dark splotches covering the wrapper, the prelight draw was heavy in tobacco taste with no disceranable hints of any other flavors.

First 1/3- lit off good with a farily even burn, typical for a figurado, with a slight chasing edge. Deep taste of tobacco with huge ammounts of smoke. The spice hit within the first few draws and carried. The burn was a bit hot at this point which I attribute to the smaller RG at the foot. I tasted a slight chocolate flavor on the roof of my mouth as the first third finished off and I ashed.

Second 1/3- burn became a bit more uneven as at this point the cigar necks up in RG and it did require a few touch-ups. The chocolate flavor faded and the deep tobacco taste returned to center stage. The draw at this point was very easy and even the smallest draw created huge ammounts of smoke. The spice seemed to intensify as the stick continued and the hotness that I had during the first 1/3 was now gone. It was at this point that I realized I should have ate something before starting this guy off...

Last 1/3- after several more touch-ups the burn straightened out and the draw began heating up again. The spiciness became very strong and its hard for me to recall another cigar that was stronger, I began feeling somewhat dizzy. The finish was smooth and enjoyable leaving a nice aftertaste when all was said and done.

Closing- I will get this smoke again, it was enjoyable and I much prefered it to the 07/05 and the camacho coyolar figurado. I found that the hot draw issue I was having was worse with the 07/05, and thusly will stick to the 11/18 stick in the future.

Re: Camacho 11/18

Thanks for the great review!! I had one of these recently that was part of a trade with Scottie/Volfan. It was my first Camacho, and was very tasty indeed.

Sancho:
Nice review. I love these smokes too. I don't have the same burn issues but, the flavor transitions are right on the money. I recommend that you try to Camacho Corojo Monarca, they are good and tasty too.

Re: Camacho 11/18

I recently tried one from a sampler. A lot of smoke, great burn but little overall flavor from a cigar that looked and smoked like it meant business. Will try again.
