Thumbs up RP Vintage 1990 Churchill Review

My first review.

I've been smoking for about 7 months, seriously for the last 4. Over that time my tastes have changed. I seem to experience more flavors, although I still can't always articulate what the subtle flavor changes are, I know they are there in a good cigar, and I enjoy this immensely.

I bought a box of these based on ratings a few months ago. I liked them then, but don't think I really appreciated them like I do now.

Construction...This is a beautiful cigar...I seem to prefer the box pressed feel in my hand, just seems natural to hold.

Pre light draw makes me salivate, with hints of the complexity to come...sweet and woody

This cigar lit beautifully. Draw is exceptional, with a good amount of smoke, that caused my wife to comment, "I like the smell of that one."

The beautiful white ash, got to well over an inch before I gently nudged it off.

About half way through, I thought I got a taste of mint (is that possible?)

I'm not sure what "a long finish" is, but I think this was it...kept making me want to take the next draw, as if it was saying " there is more to come"

Smoked it down to a nub...for a Cigar that can be gotten for less than $4 on Cbid, this can't be beat!

Nice review, and you did yourself a favor by going for a box. These impressed me the first time I smoked 'em, and they just seem to get better with age.

Great review. I orderd a couple of Robusto's but as they were out of stock I'm being sent Churchill's instead. And now I'm glad...can't wait to try it!

Got a V90 Church as a prize in a contest. Can't wait to try it now. As for the mint I think you can taste about anything in a cigar. It may not have been intentional but if you tasted it it was there or at least the memory association synapse your brain got triggered.

Big ditto - these are fantastic smokes. RP is a talented blender - I've liked every RP I've ever smoked, but the Vintage 90 is my favorite.

Re: RP Vintage 1990 Churchill

Good review! The RP vintages are fine cigars. I am partial to the 1990's but the 1992's are good in their own right. I have some Churchills and Robustos, and both are excellent. The longer they are at rest, the better they become too, so you have a lot to look forward to.

Good review.

I've smoked a couple of the 90 Robustos and found them very tasty indeed. One thing I'll comment on is the smoke.... if I can put it in words. They produce a nice dense smoke (which I like) and it's got like a silky-smooth quality.

Very good review!

Finish is the taste that remains on your palate after the smoke has been blown out or the beverage has been swallowed.

The longer the taste persist the longer the finish is said to be.

You may also notice the aftertaste of some cigars will change as it fades, that would be complex finish.

Re: RP Vintage 1990 Churchill

Smoked (or should I say lit up ) my first 90 last night. Don't know why I did, for I did a great disservice and put out after an inch. The flavor was sublime and I am going to buy a few more today. I will not EVER treat this beauty the way I did last night. Shameful!

I've gotten some light mint flavors in cigars as well. Not like a menthaly type mint flavor but a slightly sweet peppery mint flavor. More of the way mint can smell than taste.

Im so glad I found this place...Im learning so much!

For me a long finish, and complex aftertaste is huge in a smoke.

Nice review...love these smokes also. I agree RP seems to blending some nice sticks. My mouth waters everytime I open my humi and see them sitting there.

Re: RP Vintage 1990 Churchill

Thanks for the review.

I enjoy both the 90s and 92. I have treated people to these cigars and each time the people have been impressed.

I read in the newest CI catalog that they are releasing RP Fusion which is suppose to combine the flavors of both the 90 & 92. I think they are very similar in taste so am curious as to whether this will be anything different or special.
