CAO Mx2 Review Review

Outside of the Brazilia line, i really can't say that i have had a consistently good experience with CAO. Said as much to my local tobacconist, too. I complained about the construction in the Anniversary Line, how, out of the half a dozen or so I smoked, the bulk were poorly constructed and at least one was just unsmokeable.

So, he recommended I give the new Mx2 a try. He must be getting a kick back on these, what could only be euphemistically be called, cigars. Not only did the fillings in my teeth come out, because I had to draw so hard to coax some smoke through this rock, but when I did get some, well let us say, the flavor profile and I did not agree.

I agree. Loved the Brazilia, hated the Mx2. I had no construction problems but it was harsh. Not what you expect from a $5.00 cigar.

Re: CAO Mx2 Review

first one i had was nasty metallic aftertasting piece of dog turd...
2nd one i had wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. too much bad aftertaste for me.

i was given one of their anniv maduros, and it wasn't bad. my wife's co-worker, who i had sent a few cubans to, decided to let me try things he likes to smoke (other than the montes i sent him).

Yeah the MX2 isn't anything special. I also prefer the Brazilia line.

I agree the Brazilia is great, but the anni's are not so good. The mx2's also were not that good, buit not bad either.

The tobacco tasted very young to me. I've got a few stashed for long term storage also. I have a feeling in 12-18 months, these will be pretty nice.

Which Anniversaire have you smoked? the camaroon belicoso is one of my favorite cigars and I can't see how anyone couldn't like them.

Re: CAO Mx2 Review

Irish, you need to go elsewhere to get your cigars if you spent $10 on an MX2. Highest I've seen them is $5.75 for the Belicoso. I Love 'em, but I wouldn't pay THAT much for them.

Re: CAO Mx2 Review

I was in Hoboken NJ over the weekend for a herf. I couldn't leave without buying something from the shop. So I bit on something I haven't tried yet. Maybe the closeness of NYC rubs off on Hoboken. It to is the Beli size.

Re: CAO Mx2 Review

Gotcha. We don't have a cigar tax in Va, so I forget that retail in some states is MUCH higher than it is here.

Enjoy the Beli... GREAT smoke.

Re: CAO Mx2 Review

Guys....

CAO came to a local cigar shop and had a tasteing event. Well I used the oportunity to try another MX2. What a horrible smoke. I truely did not like this cigar. it was harsh and storng but not like a JdN Antano. It was just bad. However the the Criollo was really good. I would urge you guys to give them a try.

Re: CAO Mx2 Review

The only MX-2's I've had were aged in my cooler for more than 6 months. They were torpedoe sized (not sure what the actual name is). With some rest time to get the humidity lowered to 65% and allow the tobacco to settle, I thought they were pretty good. Never had one off the truck so .......

I've never had a bad Brazilia. Love the little pirahna's a lot.

Re: CAO Mx2 Review

i went to a local cigar give away by CAO with kamikaiguy had a criollo and an MX2, the criollo was fantastic but i'm definitly not a fan of the MX2, it was harsh and peppery, not to my liking...i sress the fact to try either criollo or the Brazilia, they are two very good smokes by CAO
