Joya de Nicaragua Celebration Review

Just wondering if anybody has tried these yet? I hear they are the same filler and binder as the antano line, but with a different wrapper that makes it a bit smoother. They sound great!

Re: Joya de Nicaragua Celebration

The pressure is on! I'll have to actually smoke one this weekend. I've been all over the map this week and am getting ready for a Vacation, so no Celebration yet. the Camacho Maduro SLR rothchilds are MIA, I guess they be popular (had one and it is GREAT). Jeez, I just spent another $150 today on cigars.

too much cigar CHATTER!

Re: Joya de Nicaragua Celebration

Relaxnsmoke kindly gifted me a pair of his newly acquired stogies. I smoked one Monday afternoon, but I haven't had time to post a review until now.

Here's what I understand about this cigar, it's the same filler as the Antano line, but with a different, milder wrapper. I wonder if it also has a different binder leaf? Anyway, construction was very good, firm to the touch but yeilding, no soft spots, nearly flawless wrapper. The pre-light aroma was very similar to the Antano, just more subdued. After cutting, the pre-light draw was perfect, but somewhat lacking in flavor.

After smelling the cigar, I expected it to taste like a watered-down Antano, but to me it was a different, yet very enjoyable cigar. It was definitely much milder than the Antano, I would rate the Celebracion as a mild-to-medium bodied cigar. It produced a lot of smoke, didn't get hot or harsh, and had a bitter-spice flavor with a woody finish. I didn't get the range of flavors I associate the the Antano line, but this was a good milder cigar, and a great mid-day smoke. The flavor profile was Antano minus something, but I could never quite put my finger on what that something was. Next time maybe I'll smoke a Celebracion and an Antano together so that I can directly compare flavors. I did get a slight buzz (skipping lunch probably also played a part in that.)

While I don't think this is quite as good a cigar as the Antano, I will be smoking more of these. I definitely recommend it to people who like a milder cigar.

Many thanks to rns who so graciously gifted his smokes.

Re: Joya de Nicaragua Celebration

Smoked one over the weekend.Liked it a great deal. Was a beautifully constructed cigar. Cut nicely, great draw and burn, nice volume of smoke. Nice and spicy. Definitely not the buzzbomb of the Antano line. Would recommend to my smoking friends. Frank B

Re: Joya de Nicaragua Celebration

From what I understand it is a different blend altogether.
Not just a diff wrapper.

Re: Joya de Nicaragua Celebration

my take on these is that they taste just like the antanos but are not as much as a kick in the pants. ymmv

ERDM -
The Antanio line is stronger than the Habano Punch Punch.
It is one of the strongest domestic cigars made.
Just thought I would let you know based on your Punch Punch
experience.

Agreed, ERDM.

I keep both stocked in my humi, for whatever mood I'm in- Medium body (Celebration) or blow-your-hair-back (Antano.)

Thanks for the warning! But I think the Punch Punch that I got was something out of the ordinary, I like strong, full-bodied smokes.

Is it anything like the VSG ?
