CX2 Robusto -the CAO freebee

I finally smoked the CAO CX2 robusto freebee I got 9 months ago.
I really liked this smoke for a lot of reasons. I screwed up the cut and lost a small bit of the wrapper at the cap but, that was my only problem with it. It was very tasty and had a lot of body. The initial inch was peppery and had a lot of spicey undertones. After the first 2 inches the pepper settled down into spice and a sweetness. The second third showed me some continued spice but a bit of creaminess as well. It also showed a tanginess which surprised me near the end of the second 3rd. The final third displayed a sweet cedary flavor and soon afterwards a woodiness which carried the rest of the way. It was the sweetness which I was most attracted to. It wasn't an overwhelming sweetness but enough to blend nicely with the rest of the tastes. Overall I was very impressed with this smoke, and enjoyed it a lot. If I had 2 of them I could have smoked one much sooner so that I could have a basis for comparison. However, after nine months this stick turned out to be one fine smoke, which I would definitely smoke again.

The CAO freebie was the cigar that started it all for me. It was good fresh out of the mailbox as well. I can only imagine how much better it would have been after sitiing in a humi for a while. Great review of a great cigar.

I had a CX2 that didn't impress me that much. Im not going to try to knock the line though, could have been i didn't age it enough, and it was new years...so, lets just say the booze was flowing...

I smoked mine about a week after I got it, but I bet it must be good after having some time to rest.

Oh yeah it is ready! Just don't drop it or screw up the cut as I did last night, or even smoke it in 27 degree temp as I did last night. Jeez! Temps went from 70 degrees 2 days ago to 27 degrees this morning. Anyway, mine was great in spite of everything. I'd be interested to see your review. And thx for the bump, I appreciate it.

Nice review. Haven't had a lot of luck with CAOs fitting my flavor preferences, but will give this a try...
