CAO L'Anniversaire Maduro Churchill
The CAO L’Aniversaire line was developed in the honor of the anniversary of the CAO brand. This all-maduro line is offered with a medium/full body encased in the highest grade U.S. Connecticut broadleaf wrappers that are triple-fermented to surround a rich blend of blend of select Ecuadorian, Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers. ![]() It regularly scores in the 90s, and was rated the 8th best cigar in the world for 1998 by Cigar Aficionado’s Insider ![]() Hear Tim Ozgener discuss this line. ![]() Appearance - 9/10 The wrapper is so smooth and thin. Rich and oily. Rolled and box pressed. ![]() Ash - 6.5/10 Nothing special.. holds for an inch and a half before dropping. I missed the ashtray on this one and it got all over the place. Burn - 8.5/10 Started to run in the beginning but it eventually evened out by the middle of the cigar. ![]() Consistency/Construction - 7/10 These are very consistent. However, they are conisistantly flawed. The wrapper on the cap always seems to unravel after I snip it - nothing a little saliva can't fix, but still it's a major problem that I've found in every cigar. Draw - 9/10 Amazing draw.. I find myself bellowing smoke out of a 48 ring guage. Overall experience - 10/10 This is my favorite cigar as of yet - so this section may be biased. Nicotine -8/10 For a mild/full cigar, it packs quite the punch. I didn't expect it, maybe it's kuz I haven't had dinner yet but this one left me dizzy at the end. Size/Shape - 9/10 The Churchill at 7" x 48 reminds me of a CHOCOLATE WAFER.. I used to love those when I was a kid. Small enough for a good fit in my mouth and long enough to provide ample tym for its enjoyment. Smell/Taste - 9/10 The aroma is great. Light hints of chocolate/coffee - the blend is amazing... the flavor increasing with each drag. Powerful, yet not too powerful too handle. I take a fresh of breath air and can almost taste the nicotine in my lungs. Semi-sweet and satisfying. Value - 7/10 Not the most expensive stick in the world, but still a little pricey in my opinion... |

![]() Country: Nicaragua Length/Ring: 6 7/8 x 48 Shape: Churchill Wrapper: Maduro Strength: Medium/Full Quantity: 20 ![]() Appearance - 9/10 Ash - 6.5/10 Burn - 8.5/10 Consistency/Construction - 7/10 Draw - 9/10 Overall experience - 10/10 Nicotine -8/10 Size/Shape - 9/10 Smell/Taste - 9/10 Value - 7/10 ![]() GRADED 83 ![]() ![]() With the shakey construction, satisfactory ash, and remedial value, it's a wonder why this is still my favorite cigar. I think the aroma from this blend is just really pleasing to me for some odd reason and the nicotine level is just right for most occasions - the wrappers not bad either/either that, or I must not be getting enough chocolate wafers. |

Re: CAO L'Anniversaire Maduro Churchill
Great review!
I really like a number of CAO. My most recent favorite has been the Extreme and have been eyeing the Anniversay Maduros for some time now. May have to pull the trigger on one soon. |
