LFD Double Ligero Natural Chisel Review

I picked this up after having an JdN at Rex Barclay before the (in)famous NYC Herf. I've heard such great things about the Chisel, so I decided to pick one up, and wow... I've never had a cigar like this. I had it with a cappucino, and I was whole-heartedly impressed. The wrapper was perfect, and the cut was great (I used a standard double-guillotine cutter for it. The pre-light draw was fantastic, a lot of spice and leather. The burn was perfect, and the draw was even better. I've heard some people say that it's a bit too strong, but this was one of the best I've ever had. Overall, I would say;

Appearance: 9/10
Construction: 9/10
Draw: 9.5/10
Burn: 9.0/10
Overall: 9.0/10

Personally, I WILL be buying more of these!

Re: LFD Double Ligero Natural Chisel

Nice Review! That's ironic because my last cigar last night was a Chiselito Maduro and it was AWESOME. All the power of it's bigger brother, but in a nice 30-40 minute smoke!

Nice review. I love these cigars - the best of the DL line IMO.

these are great smokes!!! nice review!! i was told(correct me if i was misinformed) that with a chisel point, that you are supposed to punch one side or the other so that as you puff ,the smoke, flavor etc. is directed straight to your pallet and the smoke is more enhanced and enjoyable.any feedback on that would be appreciated. but yes these are great sticks!!! i love them and will continue to smoke em.

I don't know about that, but since I haven't heard that before, I can't confirm or deny it. Sorry!

Also, like I told Tripp at the herf, it's not easy to smoke it, just be prepared for some flavor. Luckily, I was warned. The Edge by Rocky Patel doesn't have anything on the Double Ligero!

Re: LFD Double Ligero Natural Chisel

This cigar, however, was one of the 1st I've seen with such a big price difference between the Natural and Maduro... it was over a $1, which doesn't seem like much, but for the same ring-gauge, it shouldn't be more than a dollar. Either way, I will be purchasing more of these!

Re: LFD Double Ligero Natural Chisel

I picked up one of these at the B+M tonight, after TMoney's reccomendation, and just finished burning it. It was a great smoke, with a subtle sweetness, and a familiar spiciness, that I couldn't seem to place. It wasn't as strong as I expected. I don't think the draw was as perfect as you said, only because the B+M keeps them at about %70, so next time I'll let it rest for a bit.

I also picked up an RP Edge, I'll smoke that one later this week.
