Padron Serie 1926 Review

The kid at the local cigar shop that I frequent recently got promoted to store manager. In his excitement, he gave me a Padron 1926 No. 1.

Had this not been given to me, I would not have smoked it. It had a retail price of $25.00.

ANYHOW--

W-O-W!!!

I was just completely bowled over. This is a really wonderful, full-bodied smoke. It's undoubtedly a powerhouse, even for someone like me who prefers a powerful smoke. In my estimation, THIS is the experience I was expecting when I smoked my first Opux X.

It burned nicely. The taste was really spectacular. Just felt good in my mouth. Construction was good, with the one exception of a HUGE, and I mean H-U-G-E vein in the filler tobacco that ran the entire length of the smoke. I'm not sure how much damage it did to the taste, but I'm sure there was some degradation. It surprisingly didn't seem to affect the burn at all, but it was a real twig of a vein.

I'm still not certain I will invest this kind of money into a single smoke anytime soon, but who knows. If you have the wherewithal to buy these, by all means, I suggest doing it.

Hoss

Re: Padron Serie 1926

thanks for the review. i was recently given a couple 1926s to try and i plan on writting a review of them as well....

can't wait now. but $25 for 1 single cigar? that's just insane. i know a lot of people say the best cigar they've ever had is an older cuban trinidad fundador, and those aren't even that close in price (i gotta buy me a box though - dang).

thanks hoss.
