Legends Pepin Garcia – Yellow Label

Wrapper: Corojo – Nicaragua

First impression: this is a substantial sized cigar, and it is very heavy for its size, as well as being very firm. The wrapper has a very light, almost greenish color, and is very smooth with tinny veins. It has a very nice triple cap, and the foot you can see three different colors of filer that are kind of wavy, like the way ribbons of icing would bunch up, and it has a very outdoorsy aroma to it.
Prelight draw: after snipping just the top layer of the cap off, the draw is very smooth, surprising due to the firmness of the stick. And has a very natural/fresh tobacco taste to it.
Light: I was a bit concerned that the foot cracked a bit when it was light, due to being fresh from CI no drought, but the burn straightened up to near perfect within the first 1/8 inch and was razor sharp for the remainder of the gar.
I am not going to break in to thirds due to this stick not exactly following thirds.
It started out very peppery, and spicy, and ashed after about half an inch, then the pepper turned to more of a very spicy leather taste which continued for about another inch and a half to two inches where it ashed again. This time it started to mellow into a more woodsy/cedar taste, that lasted thought, and it ashed again at about another 2 inches. The draw never got hot or harsh; however, I believe that it needs to rest more than the 4days I gave it in the humidor. Also, it is worth mentioning that I found it to be a rather strong cigar, not quite that of the Habana Leon, but strong none the less. Burn time was just over 2 and half hours to get to the ¾ inch mark.

In conclusion, I would rank these very high in my list of Pepin, they may not be the best line Pepin has to offer, but they are very good, and the price is defiantly right at just under $4.00 per stick. I will buy these again…after I buy a box of Habana Leon, and some other of my favorite gars, but they will go to the top of the box buying rotation.

Any one here has won some of this cigar on the devil site, sell me a couple please ? I don't want to buy the whole box at CI and their 5-packs seems expensive as HELL.
