Punch Rothschild Review

I'm still new to cigars, but I thought I would give a little review to sort of jump in and help gather my thoughts.

This particular stick came from a random sampling I picked up while trying different cigars to see what I like. It lit up easy and had a nice draw. I couldn't tell you what flavors it tried to convey but so far it was the strongest cigar I have ever had but not harsh. I did feel a slight tingle/burn on my tongue about halfway through.

All in all it was a very enjoyable smoke, just kicking back in my chair with some mp3's going and just chilling. I would most likely get some more of these.

Re: Punch Rothschild

Good choice, the Rothschild MM's are one of my "go-to" cheap smokes. Always have been, always will be - there are much stronger cigars out there, but for the price they deliver a good flavor with a nice even draw. They are also ubiquitously available and deliver the exact same smoking experience time and time again.

I think of them as the McDonalds cheesburger of cigars (and I like McDonalds food, too). One of those things that you can get anywhere, it will be the same taste, and be enjoyable - not to mention the good price.

Re: Punch Rothschild

I use to smoke them in the early 90’s. The 50 cab and the Hoyo version were almost identical (or they were identical). They always drew well and medium power, but not much flavor.

Re: Punch Rothschild

This was my first real cigar, when I was 18. I smoked it one night sitting out on my parents back porch, 3/4 of the way through I was kneeling on the ground thinking I was going to puke. The Rothschild will always have a special place in my heart. Now I can appreciate them a little more and completely agree with omowasu

Couldn't have said it better. Great smoke at a great price.

Thanks for the review.

Re: Punch Rothschild

I had that very same smoke last night! The band seemed to have "glittered" the stick with tiny gold flakes. It was wired.... however that didn’t compromise the taste!

Never the less...... a good solid consistent smoke...Nice review.

Re: Punch Rothschild

Nice review. Enjoy these smokes as well. They tend to produce a hints of a sort of "flowery" taste which I find pleasant.

Re: Punch Rothschild

I always keep these on hand.

I really like what you get out of these. I like the double maduro version the best.

You can get good deals on C-Bid if you keep your eyes open.

Re: Punch Rothschild

One of my all time favorites and a go to smoke. Excellent value smoke as well. Not sophisticated but consistantly well made, nice burn, good full flavor and generally available. Nice review. If you look at some other reviews they can give you a nice template to work from as you are looking to organize your thougts.

Dittos. This is a good, consistant smoke and my 'go to' stick. Nice price, good construction and tasty to boot. I like the M/M's the best too.
