Cuesta Rey Stanford Reserve Pyramid No.9 Review

I feel obligated to do a review on this smoke. My B&M price was 8.75, which might be a dollar or so markup.

Wrapper: It's midly toothy with almost no veins Cameroon wrapper that is perfect in touch. The wrappers were made from the best that they have to offer, and it shows.

Aesthetics: The Pyramid is a thing of beauty. It looks as good as it smokes. The construction of these is increndible because they are pretty much flawless. It will make you really appreciate what a skilled torcedor can do. Completely consistent burn that required absolutely no touch ups.

Taste: Pre light draw lets you know that this thing is for certain a very mild smoke with no harshness what so ever. The flavor is pretty consistent throughout the cigar staying mellow, but has nice creamy smoke with tons of flavor. Even though it's not a complex smoke it does not lack in flavor at all. It will bring good flavor that will leave you wanting it to stay with you all day.

Recommendations: I would say this is a wonderful early morning or brunch cigar with a cup of coffee. I wouldn't reach for this cigar after a hearty dinner.

Overall: Im definitely not a mild cigar smoker, but I tell you that this cigar is solely responsible for opening my taste to mild cigars. If I had to compare this to another cigar it would be Perdomo's Champagne, but without the peppery note that you get from the first 1/3 of the Champagne.

In conclusion, I would have to say that I am in love with these due to the fact that I just dropped 100 bucks for a box of 20 which is a damn good deal. Plus, I get a free ash tray. woot. :d
