Torano Exodus Gold Cigarillo Review

I just picked up a tin (10pack) of these today at Tinder Box for $13. I had wanted to try some smaller sticks because I'm tired of trying to squeeze a corona or a robusto into a 20-30min window of time. Having never had a cigarillo I had no clue what to buy. After some deliberation, mostly between these, RP Vinatage and little padrons, I decided the 59 Gold was most appealing.

Prelit thoughts-
Holding the cigar made me feel like a giant. It's not much bigger than a cigarette, but Torano dressed this up in a beautiful band and wrapped it in cellophane so it doesn't look like a most cigarillos I've seen. I'm amazed at how great this looks. It had a nice prelit draw and the aroma reminded me of the Gold Torpedo's I usually smoke.

Smoking the tiny little stick-
This stick didn't change much throughout. It's pretty one dimensional. There is a nice earthy flavor with very little undertones of some chocolate...maybe a little coffee. Compared to the Gold Torpedo, it lacks the sweetness I'm used to and burns just a little warmer. It reminds me to the last third of it's bigger counterpart. The strength is full...very, very full. I'm surprised at how strong this smoke is. I have to admit I was expecting a little cigar to not have much kick to it.

Boy was I wrong.

This little fellow put me on my butt. I feel like a wuss saying that but it's true. About halfway through I started getting a little light headed and had to slow down. I was expecting the last couple of inches to burn really hot but it stayed consistent until I put it out.

This smoke lasted longer than I would have imagined...a little more than a half hour.

Overall-
I was impressed. This was a nice smoke...much stronger and flavorful than I was expecting. I'm not sure if this fits the bill for what I want in a short smoke. I would like to be able to smoke it on the move, probably while walking and hurrying through it. This wouldn't be good for that. It's too strong. It's a great smoke for sitting and taking it slow, but for what I'm looking for I will probably need a much milder stick. Any suggestions?

Re: Torano Exodus Gold Cigarillo

Man i wish i could find some of those! I've been searching for some good Cigarillos for when i want a smoke and don't either a.) have time or b.) don't want to fill a smoke with smoke for 45 minutes. I'll keep my eye out on thoughs. Have you tried the padron's though? I've seen them in my shop and have been curious. Also i've been needing some crowd pleasures as well.

Great Review!

I really like these for a quick smoke.

One of the larger cigarillos (4 1/4 x 34)

Rocky Patel Vintage Tins and Sun Grown Tins do it for me. Big cigar taste in a little cigarillo size. The CAO Brazilia Tin was underwhelming.
