JdN Celebracion Review

Well, it's cold & snowy, I ain't goin' nowheres. Looks like it's cigar smokin' time!

Yesterday I spent some quality time in my garage with a new friend, the Joya de Nicaragua Celebracion torp (courtesy of SAG Imports, thanks Sid!).

I have to say that I spent a little time correcting the burn, but in all honesty I was bored and tend to be rather OCD about that sort of thing. I'm sure it would have fixed itself had I left it alone.

The best word that comes to mind to describe the flavor is "chunky." Like the feeling you get in your mouth when you taste a big Cabernet or Sangiovese, or when you have that first espresso in the morning and it's just perfect.

This cigar definitely fired on all taste buds. A rich, earthy taste hits first, and the finish is reminiscent of bittersweet chocolate and coffee.

Definitely scores high marks with me.

Re: JdN Celebracion

good post and description. I'm still unsure what I think of the celebracions. I love the antanos--in my short life as a cigar smoker the antanos are one of my favorites. but i smoked one of the larger celebracions and liked it. Creamy, but yeah a bit rough. As the temp dropped I bought a box of the consuls (4.5 in) and these have been hit and miss. I smoked one today as it was around 40 degrees and it was harsh at 1st, then creamy in the middle with a little sweetness (loved those sweet wafts of smoke in the nostrils), but overall it was rough. they are have been in the humi for 2 mos or so and I hoped the harshness would have mellowed. i think ill stick with the antanos in the future.

Nice review. Smoke one my first one tonight. Definately a full bodied smoke with lots of pepper at the end! Good smoke for sure!

Good review. One of my favorite value NC's. Goes well with a cold beer on a hot day.

I picked a five-pack of these from the devil site. They've been resting for about a month. I'll have to give one a try.

Re: JdN Celebracion

I purchased a five pack of the Consul, I think (Robusto size?) and didn't like it at all. The draw was exceptionally difficult and the taste was a bit green. Possibly it was young. In any event, the others are resting and it's my plan to give them another go in a few more months. Hopefully my next experience will be better.

Re: JdN Celebracion

good review and pretty much spot on to what I thought. On the other hand I have found that both the Antano and Celebracion benefit greatly from some good rest. The ones that I've had sitting for 5 months are a great and wonderful improvement over the ones I smokeafter only a few weeks. HUGE difference

Re: JdN Celebracion

Nice review.......I still gravitate to the Antanos..........to me, they still provide more of a kick and an overall better smoking experience.

I may have to buy some and bury em' for a while.......then given em' another shot.
