My first review - CAO Gold Review

Smoked one of these last night with a whiskey sour, and I was a little disappointed. At first it had an absolutely awful draw, I was getting nothing from it. About an inch later it was drawing just fine, but burning a little unevenly, and the ash was kind of weak and flaky. Thus far it was a very mild cigar. After about the half way point it was doing much better, burning evenly, nice draw, starting to feel a little spicier taste to it but still more smooth than anything. From there to the last 1/4 it was much more the same and I eventually put it down because it was becoming more smokey and less smooth.

Overall it was a little too mild for my taste I guess, very little flavor to it and while it looks very well crafted, I had issues with it. I'm thinking about trying a Rocky Patel Connecticut next, think its a good choice? Or should I try something a little different if I wasn't impressed with the CAO Gold really.

Don't give up yet. IMHO, CAO makes some of the best out there.
What size did you have?? The Gold roubust used to be one of my favs.
I would give it another shot

Oh ya forgot that, it was a Corona Gorda/Toro. It certainly wasn't unenjoyable and I'll probably give it another shot in the summer, I'd also really like to try some of their other lines like Brazilia, Black and Mx2.

Like everyone else is saying, don't give up. CAO is a good line indeed (but I personally avoid the Soprano's edition...not worth the price). Perhaps u got a bad one out the box. Then again, Golds are pretty damn mild.
