Ashton VSG Corona Gorda Review

Got one from a very generous BOTL, and I couldnt resist them for very long. I decided I needed a good smoke today so I went for a Ashton VSG. The construction was very good and the colour of the wrapper was also good looking darker brown. I started to smoke it and out of it, the draw was ofcourse perfect, with flavours of spice and some hints of earth and wood. Very tasty and good. I have to say I was glad I had it. But the finnish was a little bit weak. Not so much flavour in the end, in other words so i have to give this one only:

4.1-4.3 out of 5.0

A very good smoke which I highly recommend.

ERDM I agree with you. The Ashton VSG are very good I keep a few in my Humidor all of the time. However I only have one in there right now I plan on getting a few this weekend.

Re: Ashton VSG Corona Gorda

I just wish they were as good as the first release! Better yet, I wish they were half as good as the ones that came in the cabinets of 50!!

I've heard said, although I've never personally tried them, that the ones that come in a cabinet of 50 (available from distributors) are even tastier.

The handful that I have had were Heaven on Earth! They can still be found but they are way out of my price range now.

Re: Ashton VSG Corona Gorda

I very much enjoy the Ashton VSG collection. The draw is always nice and I've only had a couple with burn problems but that was probably due to my inexperience at lighting cigars and not the fault of the stogie.

Re: Ashton VSG Corona Gorda

I've tried a few different sizes out of the VSG line. Haven't been disappointed by one of them yet!

Re: Ashton VSG Corona Gorda

Seems like I keep bringing back old threads...oh well

Had on of these tonight while watching 24. What a fine cigar. Draw was great, ash was awesome (some serious white ash), burn was perfect. Awesome. Had some kick to it, but not over-the-top. Flavor was exceptional, I'd say kind of "zesty". Did I mention Awesome?

Brief review, but figured I'd share. Highly recommended (Newbie recommendation, so TIFWIW )
