Arturo Fuente Review

Smoked some cigars (3) from Arturo Fuente, that was genrously given to me from a great BOTL. I started off with the smallest one kind of a small corona in the shape of a bat (I think) and then a corona sized (cuban corona?) cigar and last a size which I think is the same Hemingway Short Story has, not sure if it was the short Story though.

The first one was the best I think with spicy, woody flavours and so on... which all of the cigars had to, the similiar flavours that is. It was kind of a woody flavour that lasted long in a boring kind of way, much like the nutty flavour in Punch Punch, but in this case it was the woody flavour.

I give the first one: 3.7-3.9 out of 5.0
I give the second one: 3.6-3.8 out of 5.0
And the third one: 3.6-3.7 out of 5.0

I liked these cigars very much and was positively surprised of them. My impression was that most of the non-cuban are/was terrible, this proves that this is wrong.

Re: Arturo Fuente

For a better more accurate description: It was like smoking an oak-tree... And while Im writing, I think this would be the perfect cigar to smoke when youre playing poker. I dont know where that came from just a feeling I got when I smoked the cigar...

And when youre playing poker, you play in a room with lot of oak-furniture to make it even better/perfect... Of course comfortable leather sofas/chair... But that is perhaps another story/chapter... Sorry my imagnation just run away on its own when I smoked...

Love those Hemmingways!

I have 4 Short Stories, 2 Best Sellers, 1 Work Of Art, and 1 Classic on hand right now. I am really hoping to find some of the Work of Art Maduros, I understand they come out near the holidays with the other hard to get Fuentes.

BTW, love the PJ quote in your sig. About to start reading "Peace Kills".
"All the Trouble In the World" is my favorite of his so far.

Re: Arturo Fuente

I had the pleasure of smoking a Short Story yesterday with my morning coffee. I must say that I enjoyed every moment of it. It was a solid smoke with a nice clean tobacco flavor. The construction was well done and pleasing to the eye. The draw was slightly tight but the burn was nice and even. I really enjoyed it. It only lasted about 25 minutes but it was nice for an early morning starter cigar.

Re: Arturo Fuente

The short story is an excellent smoke. As with most smokes, puff slowly, as not to heat it up, and you will be greatly rewarded.

I have a best seller in the humidor and will be on the lookout for those hard to get AF that should be coming out soon!

Re: Arturo Fuente

The Short Story is the only one I care for, however they don't make a Don Carlos that I don't love!

I'll have to try the Best Seller as I have read many good reviews on it recently. The short story is the first Hemmingway that I've tried so I'm looking forward to sampling the entire line. I've also heard good things from a friend about the Work of Art so I'll let everyone know when I've sampled a few.
