Sabor Cubano Gran Torpedo Review

I smoked the last one of 5 that I ordered back in November so this smoke had plenty of rest time. Here is a description from the fullerspullers website -

"Sabor Cubano Gran Torpedo - 7 x 54
For a cigar named “Cuban Taste,” this stick does not disapoint. It is strong, full-flavored and medium to full in body, yet extremely smooth and rich at the same time."

Their description pretty much describes this smoke. The beginning was nothing to write home about, but after 1/3 it settled in and tasted like some of my cameroon wrapped smokes. Very smooth and creamy with notes of vanilla and that cameroon taste which I can't really describe except to say - very good. There is no harshness at all and when exhaling through the nose no bite whatsoever. The rich flavor lasted all the way to the nub. No burn problems whatsoever.

One thing I did note was that my mouth was very dry during this smoking session. I recently read something about how different tobacco plant leaves can make your mouth dry, water, sour, etc. and that cigar makers try to balance the blend so not one mouth sensation is dominant. I think this smoke had a little too much of the type of tobacco that dries the mouth. Nothing that the Captain Morgan Private Stock didn't solve -

This cigar had been stored at 65% for almost 4 months. These definately get better with age as the first one I smoked back in November tasted much more harsh than last nights smoke.

Pick up a fiver of these for around $6/per and let them sit a while - They definately can compete with the super premiums out there.

These are currently the top rated cigar on Top25Cigar. Not many familiar C&Ms carry them, that I can tell. I've not read a bad thing about them yet!
