Thumbs up La Finca Review

This was one of the cigars that I won from SeanGAR (Thanks Again). LA Finca a Nicaragua cigar 50 ring 4 1/2 length. The draw was a little tight and the burn was a little uneven but it turned out to be a decient cigar.

The construction was good no visible defects to it.

The taste started out a little bitter with the first two puffs but then mellowed out. It turned into a creamy/spice taste The spice wasn't pepery but rather like chilli or other kind of spice.

The ash was dark grey with black flecks through it. The ash length was 1-1 1/2 inches. A little loose but needed to be thumped off.

A mild to medium bodied.

And concidering the price of under $2 this is a good cigar to try and could be even a cheep everydayer.

The only draw back is the uneven burning so I would rate this at 6/10. Giving this a good cigar to try.

Oh yes, I like the robusto black. I also had problems with an uneven burn but it's still a very good cigar for the $$$.

Great everyday value. I have both natural & Black in my humidors.

Re: La Finca

You smoked the nat. At about $1.20 a stick, delevered, they're on the cheap side of the tracks. Even so, the more I smoke them the better I like the flavor profile. I bought those at Mike's for 26.95 a box. They any cheaper elsewhere?

I think that's about as cheap as anywhere.

Try JR's they are a little more but the shipping charges are cheaper.

Damn, kamikaiguy I can't believe you haven't tried La Finca yet, what a Loser!!

La Finca got me through a big chunk of the cigar craze. Then those bastards at CI rated the Corona size 91 (it is a decent smoke but in no way deserves a 91). The boxes went from ~$30 in '97 to ~$80 in '98! Thankfully they are now priced even lower than the '97 prices. For the price you get a very consistant long filler cigar in a nice box. They are slightly sweet and nutty. Their aroma isn't the best but I still like 'em a lot. I recently switched to the Robusto Blacks (maduro) in La Finca, although I will definitely alternate back to the naturals from time to time.

I was playing match pool tonight and had 3 cigars, a PSD4, a La Finca nat robusto and a SLR Toro. Although the best of the three was obvious, I can get 6 or 7 La Fincas for the price of one PSD4. The more I smoke those cheap Nic cigars, the more I like them. Oh, I won both matches against better players, which of course I attribute to my cigar selection. The Finks have a nutty aromatic flavor profile that I really like. My next box will be the robusto blacks, as TXMatt's taste is starting to grow on me .... like that nasty rash that won't go away

Kamikai PM me your addy and I'll send you a couple of the nats to try. Cheap cigars and loose women.....ahhhh......

Sean,

I can send you a robusto black to try before you pick up the box if you want. Smoke a few $5+ cigars to cure the rash..

Re: La Finca

Yep, an excellent value cigar. Very smokeable, very reliable. It is seldom that i have a problem with one of these. I always have a box in my humidor and one on order when i see the bottom of the box.

I did a review on the Robusto Black a while back. And this is the only one of the line i have smoked -- always go with a good thing.

Any word on the other cigars in the line?

Re: La Finca

Kansashat sent me one of the nats and the maduro in the Robusto size. I had the maddie this weekend and I was impressed with the flavor when compared to the price. I think that these might be the first box of cigars I get. You know...cuz they're affordable! Nice smoke for the price.
