JDN Antano Machito Review

Its been a while since I wrote a review so I figured I'd write one real quick. I honestly can't even begin to guess how many Antanos I've smoked since they were released in 2002 - probably thousands, and next to the churchill the little Machito is my favorite - a very close 2nd actually. Only prob w/ the churchills is the time constraints now that I have a little girl (grow quickly girl, grow quickly... )

The one I smoked tonight was from a box I bought about a yr ago and WOW have they gotten good. Starts out VERY spicy - almost impossible to exhale out the nose, but i still did (Im a sucker for pain). After a few minutes it calms a bit into a nice full bodied beauty. If i've said it once I've said it a thousand times - these are some of the best smokes out there if you love em STRONG. Just a small step below a good vsg or Opus IMO, and the price cannot be beat. Flavors of wet leather, ginger, earth, coffee dominate. A lot of good flavors for such a little guy - 4 5/8, 42RG I think.

If you like fuller cigars and you haven't tried an Antano yet do yourself a BIG favor and get one. Only warning is they REALLY need to sit for a few weeks after cracking the box. Otherwise all the good flavors aren't there yet.

I agree with you 100%. Superb line of cigars for those that like them strong. I like the Beli's best. The Machitos are also very good if you don't have the time for the bigger vitolas. I need to get some of the Lanceros to check them out. I'm betting they are sublime

They grow fast enough. Enjoy them while they are young and listen to you.

Re: JDN Antano Machito

I love these little guys. The beli started as my main smoke out of this line but the machitos have overtaken them and just about everything else I smoke. I get some nice strength and flavor out of these little guys and if you buy them by the box they average out to like 1.50 a smoke which is just insane for something this good. Anytime I want something relatively close to a havana pc I'll reach for one of these and am completely satisfied.

Re: JDN Antano Machito

I've got an Antano Gran Consul (4.74 x 60) as a result of a trade with 68trishield nestled away in my humi. I have to admit I am a little bit intimidated by it....but I am sure I will muster up the courage soon enough!
