Carlos Toraño Exodus 1959 Review

It would be nice to review cigars that haven't been done to death already, but I'm working with what I've got! Had a beautiful Carlos Toraño Exodus 1959 Torpedo the other night while kinda cleaning up our garage.

Cigar Size: Torpedo
Wrapper: Honduras
Binder: Hon., Mex., Nic.
Filler: Honduras
Appearance: Sexy dark chocolate brown
Construction: Box-Pressed and flawless
Aged: About a month
Burn: Fairly even, one touch-up
Problems: Just the touch up
Ash Color: grey
Ash Structure: firm, only ashed twice
Draw: Fairly easy, not too loose though
Strength: Medium
Tasting Notes: I thought it started off with a bit of a peppery harshness to it that I wasn't too fond of, but it didn't take very long before It felt much smoother. The further it progressed to the nub the more creamy and rich it seemed and balanced out near the end with a slight cocoa taste to it.
Rating: 87/100

I have a Exodus Silver sitting in my humidor that I'm excited to try next. Overall it was a nice evening smoke with a class of Bacardi 151 and coke that left me feeling pretty good.

Great review APEX.....I think it one of the better Torano cigars. Try the Virtuoso next.

One of the better 'Value' & 'Go-To's' out there.
That's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

I agree, I think Torano has done a great job of producing high quality cigars while keeping their prices very reasonable. I allways try and keep several in the humi.. I like the Exd. 1959 gold, the Signature series, the Virtuoso.. and for a mild cigar I'll smoke a Casa Torano. I recommend trying Torano to anyone who hasnt tried one yet.

And for a special treat try the 2004 Tribute, if you can find them. Top of the Line!

Beware of the Silver! I love the reg. Exodus, but the Silver doesn't do it for me.

I agree with your review
Exodus 59 is a smooth cigar. For the money its tough to beat.

That was one of my first boxes. The interesting thing was that they got plumb or plume on them in less than a year. I am 100% sure it was not mold.

Nice Review! Never had the Torpedo, but the Toro & Perfectos are my favorites!! The Toro is what started me down the path of Tobacco Road.

You can buy the Exodus 1959 at Killer prices at www.seriouscigars.com
a Houston B&M with Web presence - $75.95 for a box of Toros or Perfectos and FREE shipping.

WAY better than the prices at the usual places!

I had a toro tonight. It's a great cigar, the price makes it even better!
