Re: AF....Bland and Harsh

I had a bad Cuban Bellicoso a few days ago. Lit it up in the car while driving, and knew right away it was a bad one. Had been stored in the humi at 65% for close to a year. The draw was impossible and the taste was making me sick. I ditched it after 1 inch, and didn't even feel bad. This happens, it's part of the hobby.
The next Fuente I had was great, as they usually are... Cheers, Larry.

I've enjoyed the few SG Belicosos I've had. Had a tight draw on a couple of em, but otherwise they were very tasty.

I wonder if they are as inconsistent as the King B's. As good as they taste, I have yet to have a perfect burn on the King B. Could it be the AF SG line. I only have had the chateau and the King B.

I bought a box of AF Cuban Belis and every one was superb. But that was two years ago, and who knows what changes time has wrought???

As with all hand-made products, there's variation between cigars. I try to purchase at least 4 of anything new that I want to try, and I won't make a final judgement until I smoke all 4 of them.

Re: AF....Bland and Harsh

I've had very limited experience with AF cigars. But while in Vegas last week I bought a stick of most of their "higher-end" smokes and was greatly disappointed by almost all of them except the Opus X corona. I found almost the same taste as you...bland for the most part with some harshness /bitterness towards the end. I've got a few left that I brought back home and will let them sit in the humi untl the summer and see if that helps the taste. The construction and draw were all great on the ones I had....also a very nice firm white ash....but flavorwise....YUCK!
