Re: La Floridita Toro Maduro (Bundle)

I've had both the naturals and maduros and prefer the maduros. But, then, 98% of the cigars I smoke are maduros. I have a few bundles of both the belicoso and toro maduros on hand and think they represent a pretty good value.

Re: La Floridita Toro Maduro (Bundle)

I'm enjoying my daily Sancho Panza Dbl Maduro corona, but for half the price ( 2 for 1 deal currently) I'll try these La Floridita's for the heck of it. Added a fiver of Perdomo Habanas and some maduro Padrons.

So much for trying to stop burning up my VISA with stogies!!

The two for one deal is outstanding. If I didn't already have a supply, I'd be all over it because I just can't pass up a good deal. But---I do like the S.P. dbl maduros (Quixote, mainly) better than the L.F.s.

I jumped on it. The wrappers on the maddies are definitely, shall we say, "enhanced", but they don't bleed too badly and the cigars have a really good flavor and aroma.

Re: La Floridita Toro Maduro (Bundle)

La Floridita Toro Maduro 6 X 50.

I'm currently smoking my first of these fresh from delivery today. The bundle Cello had a sticker indicating 11/07, I assume that's when they were rolled or packaged or both.

I noticed a bit of a barnyard aroma when I removed it from the wrapper, but have found this to often be a good sign. It has a nice and firm feel of good quality construction. A very dark brown and fairly shiny wrapper with only one or two medium veins here and there. The Prelight draw after the clip was a tad tight for my taste, but smokable. There is a good taste from first light.

The first drop of the mostly white ash was of it's own accord and right at an inch. I gave it a second clip shortly after this to see if I could improve the draw, but it didn't help noticeably. I put it down and went in to grab my Henry's draw tool and gave it a couple of stabs, then a couple more and improved the draw considerably, but only for about five or six draws. I'm going to stop this review at this point in hopes that my next one will have a better draw and I'll get a few pictures up then as well.

Good taste, but the draw has me wondering...

I had to get in on this deal too....nice little b-day gift for the brother-in-law with a couple of other sticks.

Friends brother is coming up from Atlanta next week and bringing them for me!

Cannot wait to try one!

Re: La Floridita Toro Maduro (Bundle)

I just got a nice double bundle of the maddies as well! I'll let them rest for awhile before I tear into them. I had the same date on my bundles too.

Re: La Floridita Toro Maduro (Bundle)

Just got my package in with two bundles of torpedoes and two of Coronas. Smoked a Torp OTT and it wasn't bad at all...OTHER than some tough draw issues!!! I sincerely hope a few months in the humi helps loosen them up. Otherwise I have 4 bundles of crap.

I'm at a crossroads right now with bargain smokes......Like some, but many others turn out to be borderline dog rockets.

I'm nearing the point of buying ONLY the good stuff that has NEVER let me down; Padron mads, Sancho Panza Dbl Madoros, Carlos Torano 1916's, Exodus 1959's and my biggest bargain find so far...La Vieja Habana's. To name a few.

My cooledor is starting to burst with stuff I no longer care for.

Smoking one of these right now, and I have a confession to make.

I like these more than Padron 000 Series maduros.

A few week in the humi DID help or my initial pick OTT was simply a plugged example. The corona's are a nice smoke for the money, especially at the 2 for 1 DEAL. The Sancho Panza Dbl Mads are still the better stick FOR MY TASTE but for others the LF's may be the winner.

Just had a few of the Torpedo's. The larger vitola added some different, more multi dimensional flavors than the smaller Coronas. I'll stick to the Sancho Panzas for a quick morning smoke. But the Torps may make it into my fishing/shooting/yardgar rotation.

I'm still enamored with the La Vieja Habana's from Drew Estate for an everyday cheapie. Te LF's certainly deserve a try by anyone looking for that elusive GREAT, CHEAP smoke.

Re: La Floridita Toro Maduro (Bundle)

My daughter just got married this weekend and I saved the 2 bundles of the mads that I had posted earlier about for the reception. These got passed out to cigar smokers and the non-smokers. Everyone that smoked them said they were great (what else were they going to tell the father of the bride?)

These really are a fine budget smoke. Thankfully I have a few left for me!!
