Cienfuegos Pyramide Review

Got 12 today from cbid and after they passed the squeeze test I had to fire one up before work.
Smelled a little ..... earthy... or stuff you put on earth to make stuff grow. OK it smelled like the south end of a north facing bovine. I pushed on having heard great things about Rolando Sr..
I toasted the foot and got nothing spectacular and the draw was pretty loose for my taste, but it is my 1st Pyramid so maybe that is how they draw.
I couldn't pick out too many flavors other than nuts in the middle, (please don't comment on that one) but I'm sure there was no chocolate or espresso. But it was like I smoked 2 cigars. The first half was slow and mild and the 2nd hald picked up both in flavor and burn. I fully enjoyed the smoke.
No burn problems straight out of the box. Good construction allthough definately hand made due to the irregularity of the shape. I kind of liked the imperfect look. Like it was more about how it smoked than how it looked.
MSRP is supposedly $180 for 12, but I got em at a private auction for $40.
These will go great with coffee cream and natural sugar on Saturday mornings.

Thanks for reading.

Dude, I was in on that deal as well. For just under $40 including shipping I couldn't restist. I unwrapped them and de-celloed them soon after they arrived, placed them in a cedar box after inspection and into the cooler they went. Like you I was very tempted to try them based on how they looked and felt. I did notice that a couple of the wrappers may be candidates for some repair if handled anymore. I did notice the aroma was not the best given the visuals I was receiving, hence their time-out in the cooler. I figure that after a couple of weeks of R&R they will open up and give my nose more of what it is looking for.

I am however very grateful for your lack of restraint, (I owe you one). You have added to the anticipation

With that said I plucked the box out of the cooler and quickly snapped a few photos of our prizes.

Thanks again for the review, hope you dont mind the assist

I picked up 2 lots on cbid-one as a "special" at $34.99 and the other at $22.00. Go figure. Can't wait to light one up.
