Sosa Wavell Maduro

I just finished off a Sosa Wavell Maduro that I've had resting in my humi for nearly two years. The construction was very nice with a very pretty, oily wrapper. Upon lighting up, I was worried. I'd never tasted a cigar so harsh. it had a terrible chemical taste. I almost tossed it before even giving it a chance to rebound. I'm glad I didn't toss it. It mellowed out nicely within a few draws and remained mellow up to the half-way point. At the half-way point, things got interesting. I noticed a slight peppery taste. The peppery goodness only got stronger. With about three inches left, my mouth was on fire. It was great. Now I have a pleasant nutty after taste. I would recommend this stick, but I'd like to obtain a fresh one just to compare.

Wow two years!!! I can never age anything that long : Nice review, I'm surprised it started off harsh after sitting for so long, but it seems like it finished well.

Good Review.I've often wondered why this brand doesn't get mentioned much. They used to make some nice sticks, although I haven't had one since the late 90's.

Re: Sosa Wavell Maduro

I'm a fan of the Sosa line in general and I agree, they don't get the attention they deserve. I've had the Sosa Wavell Natural and it was pretty good, but nothing special IMHO. How does the maduro compare to the natural?
