A Review of Sorts

Ths afternoon I was planting flowers with my daughter. The weather was absolutely perfect in the mid 70's. Abby and I were both dirty and sweaty form lugging potting soil and playing in the dirt.

Earlier I had cut a Bucanero Classico Churchill and was really looking forward to finishing up and smoking it. The Bucanero sat in my ash tray...calling to me. I have gained a real sweet spot for Nicaraguan tobacco.

Finaly I was able to light up. The draw was tight, more so than any other Bucanero I remember from the past. I just couldn't get the Buc to give me the smoke I really wanted at this time. I decided to just dump it after about 1" in, which is something I never do...I try to stay with them and see what happens.

So now here was my dilema. I had wanted to have a Cohiba Siglo IV to start with, but for whatever reason laid my hands on the Bucanero.

I hustled down to mu humidor and pulled out a Siglo IV from 2004.

Typical Cuban perfection....magnificent draw and flavors that literally exploded in my mouth. I sqat and slowly smoked this work of art for about 45 minutes, savoring each draw and letting ,y mind wander. I thiought about just "who" rolled this particular stick...man or woman? did they have a family? what was their life like in Cuba? they must have been proud of their work as the construction was flawless.

I was at the nub and really regretted not having another 3-4" more...but it was time to get the grill ready for our dinner.

Siglo IV from 2004...marvelous if you have them...take my word on it.

Bravo, I have many in the Siglo series. The aroma is unlike anything else and the construction, like you said, is always spot on.
