Post Cohiba Red Dot lonsdales Review

This saturday i went to one of my cousins birthday party. My uncle gave me One of the Cohiba Red Dot lonsdale. It was well constructed and had a good draw. It smelled ok lit and unlit. But it didnt have much taste. It produced a good amount of smoke. It was smooth not harsh at all, but as i said, i didnt notice anything special in it. Dont know how much is the price for one of these, but, i wouldnt pay alot for one.

They are high I think for what they are. I think they run in the 9-11 dollar range, which is too much for me. I think there is much better cigars put there for less $$.

Haven't had a good experience yet with the Red Dot line. They seem just kinda blah to me. I've only had a few but the few I had made me not want to try anymore.

As I'm really gettin' into Non-Domestics I will have to try an ISOM Cohiba and compare the two. From what I heard though, there is absolutely no comparison. I hope to be gettin' my hands on some soon.

It is a night and day difference in my eyes, the ISOMs are pricey for the cohiba line but they are a great smoke, if price is of a concern there are a lot of ISOM that have all the complexity, flavour and aroma for less of a hit to the wallet. Up here in the Great White North the taxes make the Non-habanos and ISOM almost the same price so why not go ISOM. A lot of the domestic smokes that you guys talk about on this site are not available up here or readily available anyway and with the taxes in the smoke shops I stay with the ISOM. I have had some domestics but the pale in comparison to the ISOM, just my Canadian 2 cents worth.

Re: Cohiba Red Dot lonsdales

I agree with you Butch, almost every ISOM I've had has blown all the domestics away. I've tried a pretty decent assortment of ISOM's, however the Cohiba line is one I have not tried becuase of that price range you were talking about. However, I'm at a point in my life where I can start looking at boxes of Cohiba's as a viable option when purchasing. Life has been very good recently.

Yeah there is Absolutely no comparison between the Red dot line and the ISOM, I didnt want to make the remark on the Review since in the cigar it specifies that there is no relation between both, but, since they use the name there can be some confusion. But as said before there is a diference like day and night between both.

Re: Cohiba Red Dot lonsdales

If I'm in the mood for a really decent domestic, (and don't mind paying a higher price), the Cohiba Churchill and Paquenos (demi-asse) are both decent smokes with good flavor & complexity.
In no way though can I compare these Dominican cigars to Habanos. They're really in two different catagories.

I'm with Mo. The Cohiba Reds are not that bad. They are nothing exceptional. I'll have one every now and again. If I am in the mood.
