Davidoff Millenium Piramides Review

I picked this cigar up several weeks ago as part of Arnold's Tobacco's half-priced sampler deal. Based on its appearance (not to mention its retail price), I figured it'd make for a special treat.

For the first two-thirds, this cigar was very refined; the flavors were muted but enjoyable. The spice was present (although it waned a bit in the second third) but it wasn't aggressive. There was a hint of creaminess and almost no earthiness. Although I was concerned that the RH in my desktop humidor had been a bit high (70% because it's been in a cool but dank basement), the cigar burned and drew very nicely.

I didn't enjoy the cigar as much in the last third. The spice became more prominent, but it was matched by a twang. I recall someone posting recently about a metallic taste in Henke Kellner's blends, and I noted something like an aluminum bitterness in the back of my mouth with every puff. I followed Mr. Davidoff's injunction to refrain from smoking a cigar past the band.

I'm very glad I had the opportunity to try this cigar for something like $9, but I wouldn't want to pay that price for another one, let alone the $15+ retail price.

Re: Davidoff Millenium Piramides

I smoked one of these a few nights ago.. I think Thursday. Definately not my favorite Davidoff, one of the stronger ones, but I did enjoy it ... got really harsh with about an inch and half to two inches left on the stick. purging didn't help much.

Re: Davidoff Millenium Piramides

I still need to try some Davidoffs. The price has kept me away thusfar, but that is one awesome looking cigar.
