The Beast Review

Today I broke a stick thats been in the coolerdor since August of 2005,Purchased at a Lexington Ky B&M for about $14,IIRC.
The stats-6 1/2x58rg,Costa Rican Wrapper,Mixed country filler,Nic binder.
Construction,I have to admit, was perfect. It is a beauty to look at.

Ok-kick the tires and light the fires. This cigar lit easily, and the draw was perfect.Got some nutty flavors with some spice(cinammon?)trying to come through.

Flavor was mild/med,and produced large amounts of white smoke.Ash was grey and flakey, and held very well.

The flavor never changed, and even though it started to get a bit hot towards the end,it still maintained its flavor.Had kind of a bitter(but not unpleasant)finish.

This was a nice smoke, but not anywhere worth its pricetag.Have to give it up to the folks at Gurkha, they market great.

Re: The Beast

Thanks for the review. Sometimes you can get some pretty good deals on Gurkhas at c-bid. I don't think I would pay full retail for something like this though. Nice ash by the way!!!

Re: The Beast

Great review and nice pics. I agree 100%, the Beast is a good cigar but not worth the price.

Re: The Beast

Thanks for the review. I have one of these that I have had resting in my humidor since December. I just haven't had the courage to take this one on yet. 6-1/2 x 58 is pretty intimidating.

This sticks bark is much more intimidating than its bite.Just set aside at least 90 minutes for it.Its a long smoke.
